See the Panda’s at San Diego’s Balboa Park

Balboa Park is one of the must see attractions in the San Diego area. It is the nation’s largest urban cultural park with over 15 major museums, spectacular art galleries, and, of course, the San Diego Zoo.

San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo is one of the best and biggest zoos in the United States. In fact, it was rated the best zoo in the entire world in the 2015 Trip Advisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards. Now that is saying something!

It has over 4,000 rare and endangered species living in it, representing more than 800 species and subspecies.

It is great that we are able to help keep these animals alive and thriving in such an atmosphere when their numbers are decreasing each and every year in the wild. The Zoo really does a great job in keeping a diverse animal population and it works to keep these animals alive and well, instead of letting them go extinct.

The Zoo has some of the coolest animals on Earth and is absolutely a place that the kids will love to attend. Going to the Zoo will show them animals they will probably never see in real life otherwise.

There are tigers, pandas, koalas, hippos, polar bears, and so much more. If you have kids, or even if you don’t, this is an absolute must see!

Japanese Gardens

One of my favorite things at Balboa Park is the Japanese Gardens. They are open daily and feature some of the most pristinely manicured gardens in the country. They are absolutely beautiful to walk through. They are quiet, peaceful, and reflective. You definitely want to check these out if you go to Balboa Park.

Aviation and Automobile Museums in San Diego

If you thought that the Zoo and the Gardens were all the Balboa Park had to offer, you are in for a big surprise. As I said above, Balboa Park is home to 15 amazing museums that range from natural history, to art, photography, automobiles, and aviation.

If you have an interest, there is likely a museum about it there, and being on minutes from downtown, there is no excuse not to visit Balboa Park during your stay in San Diego.

Two of my favorite museums to visit are the aviation and automobile museums. I have always been mechanically inclined and I like fixing things with my hands and getting dirty. This makes the aviation and car museums perfect for me.

Here, you can see some of the early planes and cars right up close and learn all about their histories and the histories of the men who invented them. It’s so incredible, you could easily spends hours there taking in all of the information.

A few of the coolest exhibits are the Harley Davidson, Indian Motorcycles, and Steven McQueen exhibits. Harley and Indian are obviously hugely known and recognizable motorcycle brands, and Steve McQueen is a hugely famous actor who was a motorcycle enthusiast.

If you are ever in the San Diego area, you must visit Balboa Park and visit a few of their popular attractions. You won’t be disappointed.
